Calls in Sudan for Execution of British Teacher

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov. 30 — Hundreds of demonstrators in Khartoum, Sudan’s capital, poured into the streets on Friday demanding the execution of a British teacher who was convicted of insulting Islam because her class of 7-year-olds named a teddy bear Muhammad.

Teddy row teacher freed from jail

A UK teacher has been released and handed over to British officials in Sudan after being jailed for letting her class name a teddy bear Muhammad.

Gillian Gibbons, 54, a mother-of-two from Liverpool, was freed four days after receiving a 15-day sentence. [...]

In a statement read out by Baroness Warsi, Mrs Gibbons said: "I have great respect for the Islamic religion and would not knowingly offend anyone and I am sorry if I caused any distress."

And therein lies the rub: a citizen of a ostensibly civilized nation, one who chooses to live in a third-word cesspool in order to help improve the lives of third-world cesspool dwellers, is thrown into a jail cell as the monkeys threaten to behead her, all because one of her students named a fucking teddy bear after their peaceful prophet. And she's the one apologizing?

I can't wait for Hollywood's movie version of this dramatic comedy - the one that pins the blame for the whole thing on Bush.
